Are You a Bigger Mets Fan Than a Glen Cove Second Grader?

The students participated in a variety of Mets-themed classroom activities.

Gribbin School second graders celebrated the New York Mets’ trip to the World Series with various classroom activities, including creating baseball cards and reading about the team’s history.

Dressed in trademark Mets colors of orange and blue, the students participated in a variety of Mets-themed activities:

  • Students created their own baseball cards where they measured their height and wrote personal information about themselves.
  • Students learned about the history of the Mets and created a poster on what they learned.
  • They alphabetized the Mets players’ last names and sorted the team’s individual averages from greatest to least.

Second grade teachers and Met fans Coleen Brunhuber, Amy Gallo and Mark Glaviano worked together to organize the day’s events.
