Au Pairs Celebrate J Day by donating to the INN

Cultural Exchange and Quality Childcare

Have you ever heard of J Day? “It’s a nationwide celebration of the power of international exchange. International exchange participants come together with their American hosts to "eat, play, and give" -- to share cultural diversity and American customs, to give back to their communities, and to have some fun. J Day is also an opportunity to raise awareness of the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program”.

Au pairs come to the US from around the world on a J-1 visa to spend a year with a host family learning the American way of life and caring for the host children. It’s a great way to enjoy cultural exchange! Au pairs share their culture with the host family by preparing foods from their country, teaching language, songs and games to the host children and parents enjoy the benefit of live-in childcare provided by an experienced, loving caregiver.

While in the US, au pairs often volunteer in their community. This Monday, August 7th is J Day. Au pairs with Au Pair Care are collecting items to donate to the INN, the Mary Brennan Soup Kitchen in Hempstead.
