North Shore Historical Museum

Join us for the official opening of our US 250th anniversary exhibit, exploring why the colonies broke from Britain and how the North Shore of Long Island experienced the Revolutionary War and British occupation. The exhibit features numerous historical books paired with expanded descriptive text that explains the North Shore’s role in the conflict—from local soldiers at the Battle of Long Island to families who evacuated across the Sound to Connecticut. Visitors will also enjoy a special section displaying photographs and a commemorative flag from Glen Cove’s 1976 Bicentennial celebration, connecting our community’s past and present in honoring America’s fight for independence.Please RSVP so we can best plan refreshments.

Today, we're proud to have athletes representing Team USA on the world stage, including the nation's #1-ranked woman at 55 kg and the #1-seeded athlete on the USA Junior Team in the Girls 12-13 (-52 kg) division. Their success demonstrates what's possible through dedication, hard work, and a supportive community.
Despite these accomplishments, our greatest source of pride isn't the medals. It's watching students gain confidence, make lifelong friendships, overcome challenges, and grow into respectful, resilient young adults.
