County Approves $75K ARPA Grant for Glen Cove Senior Center
The funding will enable the Senior Center to enhance its many offerings to the senior citizens of the community.

(MINEOLA, N.Y.) - The Nassau County Legislature voted unanimously on Monday, Jan. 23 to approve a $75,000 grant for the Glen Cove Senior Center. The grant was awarded within a larger allocation of federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to the Nassau County Department of Human Services Office for the Aging.
“The Glen Cove Senior Center is such a special place where seniors socialize, exercise, have healthy meals, and enjoy so many wonderful activities,” Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D - Glen Cove) said. “This substantial grant will go a long way toward maintaining and expanding the programming that the Senior Center can offer to the beloved senior citizens in our community.”
Among its many services, the Glen Cove Senior Center provides congregate and home-delivered meals; nutrition education and health promotion; transportation to and from the Center; and adult day care and caregiver support. Programming at the Center runs from Monday through Friday and includes exercise, art, and other classes; games, meals, music, and more.
