DeRiggi-Whitton Co-Sponsors Narcan Training in Locust Valley

A potentially life-saving Narcan training event recently took place in Locust Valley.

In a continued effort to increase awareness of heroin and opiate addiction and help save lives by reversing overdoses, Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton again co-sponsored a Narcan training session. The event took place at the Locust Valley Fire Department on August 8.

Attendees learned how easy heroin and opiate addiction is, along with how users often start with opiates in pill form. Because heroin is stronger and easier to acquire than pills, many gravitate to this highly addictive drug that is cheaper than a pack of cigarettes to buy.

Leg. DeRiggi-Whitton wishes to thank the Locust Valley Fire Department for hosting and helping to promote the event. Delia is sponsoring another Narcan training session on Wednesday, October 19 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Glen Cove Fire Department. Feel free to call Leg. DeRiggi-Whitton’s office at 516-571-6211 with any questions or comments on this or any other topic.
