DeRiggi-Whitton to Host Tax Workshop January 30
The workshop, held 2-4pm at the Glen Cove Senior Center that will explain assessments, how to challenge them and how the process works.
Challenging Nassau County home value and related tax assessments is easy and can result in significant tax reductions each year. While this has been favorable for years, given the home value re-assessments that were recently mailed to homeowners, grieving may be more beneficial than ever.
Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton is hosting a workshop that will explain assessments, how to challenge them and how the process works. The session will be held on Wednesday, January 30 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Glen Cove Senior Center, located at 130 Glen Street in Glen Cove. The workshop is open to the public and there is no need to register in advance.
“Whether or not people have grieved their taxes in the past, I’m urging all homeowners who think they may be over assessed to grieve,” Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton said. “It is easy to do without any professional assistance and doesn’t cost anything.”
