Community Corner
From the Desk of Mayor Reginald Spinello
Glen Cove's mayor shares a Thanksgiving message with the community.

Many families in our community will be having Thanksgiving dinner this Thursday through the philanthropic efforts of our local fraternal organizations, houses of worship, Youth Bureau, and neighbors who choose to remain anonymous. I know that in many homes there will be an empty chair with a place setting in tribute to loved ones serving in our nation’s armed forces. In some cases, the empty chair represents someone who will continue to be sorely missed. As we gather with our families and friends, let’s count our blessings and be grateful.
Let’s commit ourselves to helping others in our community throughout the year. As we pause to reflect this holiday, I ask that we include a hope for peaceful resolutions the current unrest in our country
Please bring your family and join my wife, Coleen, the City Council and me to light the City’s Christmas tree on Saturday, November 29, 4:30 p.m. at Village Square. My sources tell me that the Jolly Old Elf in a red suit will be making a special guest appearance.
