Ladies' Lecture: A Yearlong Cruise- A Couple's Story

The Ladies of Glen Cove Yacht Club are planning a Lecture Series in the winter and Sunday Social Sailing in the summer of 2011. We welcome all women who are interested in expanding their knowledge of sailing and cruising and meeting other women who sail. Our Ladies Lectures are open to the public and free of charge. Directions and other information about Glen Cove Yacht Club may be found at http://glencoveyachtclub.org. The schedule follows (all dates are subject to change if necessary):

Sunday, January 9, 2011 4-6 p.m. at GCYC
"A Year Long Cruise- A Couple's Story" GCYC members Jim and Bonnie Cleary on their sailboat Dana left from GCYC on September 15, 2009 and returned on June 1, 2010. They will present their experiences during their almost year long journey from GCYC outside NJ, Cape May, up the Delaware to the Chesapeake, down the Intracoastal Waterway, to Ft. Lauderdale, ultimately Georgetown on Great Exuma in the Bahamas- and back!! They will talk about how they planned their trip, how they prepared their boat, how they ate and lived aboard their boat for almost a year. They will answer questions about planning your own cruise and relate experiences which may inspire distance or even weekend cruising! If interested in attending, please RSVP Marie Siobhan Gallagher at MarieGallagher@SATcourse.com or 516-655-3395 for planning purposes.
