Free Coffee, Donuts Jan. 11 During Glen Cove's 'Chip-A-Tree'
Sponsored by the Glen Cove Beautification Commission, the city's "Chip-A-Tree" recycling event will take place Jan. 11 from 9 am to 12 pm.

GLEN COVE, NY - Are you stilling clinging on to your old Christmas tree? The city of Glen Cove is encouraging you to toss it, and get free donuts and coffee in the process.
Sponsored by the Glen Cove Beautification Commission, the city's annual "Chip-A-Tree" recycling event will take place Jan. 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Residents can drop off their trees at a designated area in the Morgan Park parking lot.

Trees will be chipped on-site. The small pieces of wood will be used at city playgrounds and other areas in need of wood chips.
You don't have to wait until Jan. 11 to recycle your tree, of course. You can do that now. Prior to recycling your tree, however, make sure you remove all tree decorations and lights before dropping it off for recycling, according to city officials.
