Garden City Law Firm Appoints Justice Daniel Palmieri

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (April 3, 2018) – Reisman Peirez Reisman & Capobianco announced the appointment of the Honorable Daniel Palmieri as Senior Counsel for the Garden City based law firm.

Justice Daniel Palmieri’s distinguished career includes 7 years spent as Justice of the Supreme Court, Tenth Judicial District, Nassau County where he served until his retirement in 2017. Prior to serving on the bench, Judge Palmieri was engaged in private practice. He was Vice President – Legal at Corporate Property Investors (CPI), a privately held real estate investment trust which was the owner and operator of shopping malls and other real estate properties throughout the country. During his tenure he drafted and negotiated leases, construction and service contracts, and litigated on behalf of CPI. In addition, he handled a wide variety of case types which included commercial, labor law, litigation, construction, professional liability, tort and product liability, matrimonial, and personal injury.

During the time he was at CPI, he was an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and served on its Annual Law Conference and Legal Update Committees. He has also been an active member of both the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations.

Justice Palmieri’s judicial career began in 1989 when he was elected District Court Judge for Nassau County and then County Court Judge, totaling 25 years in Nassau County, New York. As a jurist, he has handled all aspects of criminal and civil matters and has had numerous decisions published in the New York State Official Reports. During his service in the Courts, Judge Palmieri presided over many commercial, real estate, land use and zoning matters. Thereafter, he was elected and re-elected to the County Court and was designated Acting Supreme Court Justice where he served for over 10 years.

Palmieri is a graduate of St. John’s University undergraduate program and law school, where he excelled academically. He resides in Garden City, New York with his wife, Mary Ellen O’Brien, who is also an attorney.
