Glen Cove Boy Scout Brings Basketball Hoops to Finley

The five new basketball hoops are thanks to the senior's Boy Scout Eagle Project.

Glen Cove High School Senior AJ Perfetti raised money to purchase and assist in the installation of five new basketball hoops for Finley Middle School’s blacktop for his Boy Scout Eagle Project.

“The focus of an Eagle Scout Project is to have a lasting impact on one's community and AJ has certainly succeeded,” Finley Principal Nelson Iocolano said.

“The kids were making immediate use of the new backboards and will enjoy them for years to come.”

AJ, his fellow troop members and his father, who serves as troop leader, worked together with the district’s buildings and grounds staff, including Brian Kormoski. Iocolano expressed his gratitude to AJ and all of the members of Troop 72, as well as Kormoski, whom he described as always willing to assist in the school’s many special projects.
