He has been a member of the Club for six years and loves participating in all of the Club’s programs and assisting Coordinator, Ms. Raquel (Gonzales) prepare for sports activities in the gymnasium. He credits the Club for helping him with homework and providing the tools and items he needs to do complete his projects and assignments. “They staff is very helpful and I am doing better in school,” said Javier. He makes friends easily and has many friends at school and at the Club. Javier enjoys being at the Club with his friends but truly appreciates off-site field trips where he gets to participate in events he would not otherwise get to experience.
Senior Youth of the Month, Brianna, 13, is in the seventh grade at Robert M. Finley Middle School. This is Brianna’s second time being named Youth of the Month. Her favorite subjects are science and social studies and she would like to become a nurse when she grows up. Brianna plays soccer, the clarinet and takes dance. She has been a Club member for seven years and is currently involved in the Teen Center where she participates in many educational and leadership programs. She has developed a special kinship to Teen Program Director Breanna Townsell who shares her name and provides personal support, assistance with homework and an unwavering friendship. “The Club means a lot to me. Without the Club, I would be at home alone and not active. I’m involved in all kinds of activities and programs here,” said Brianna.
Congratulations to Javier and Brianna.
