Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club Dinner Dance Replete with Goodness, Greatness and Gratitude

On Saturday, November 15, 2014 Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club at Lincoln House hosted their 38th Annual fundraising Dinner Dance.

The event, co-chaired by Aimee Eberle and Julie Zarou, reflected the spirit of the season – thankfulness and gratitude.

Club parent and keynote speaker Colleen McGuire was the embodiment of appreciation as she shared her story of how the Club has been a lifeline to her and her children. Her words, spoken with pure gratitude, quieted the room to pin drop silence and brought tears to many eyes.

The Dinner Dance was held under a massive tent at the Meadow Brook Club and the space was elegantly and simply designed in autumnal colors. Auctioneer CK Swett, who according to the New York Times has “managed to shake up the staid world of auctioneering…,” did an outstanding job auctioning the hottest tickets in town - Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden, fabulous getaways and highly sought after sporting events, all procured by Live Auction Chair Wendy Fentress. The Auction finale was a Driving Toward Our Future Campaign which helped the Club raise funds for a much needed bus. Exquisite wines flowed generously thanks to the gracious donation of Banfi Vintners of Old Brookville and guests danced the night away to music by the Rhythm Shop of Silver Pro Entertainment.

The Club is truly grateful for the many volunteers, sponsors, advertisers and donors who supported the event to help the children and families of the Glen Cove community.
