Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club Invites Teens to Apply for the Louis M. Sanford College Scholarship

Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club is accepting applications for the 2017 Louis M. Sanford College Scholarship, named in honor of past Executive Director, Louis M. Sanford for his 33 years of leadership and his commitment to continuing education. The $8,000 Scholarship, distributed over four years, is awarded to a college-bound senior who demonstrates outstanding character, integrity and leadership.

The Club invites seniors accepted to a four year university, college or accredited trade school who have been members of the Club for a minimum of two years to apply. Potential candidates are required to exemplify a sense of commitment and dedication to their academics, their community, their family, their future and the Club. Applicants must also establish a financial need for aid.

The application requirement includes a completed application form and resume, transcript and standardized test scores, letter of recommendation, most recent tax return, FASFA, student aid report, financial aid letter and a 250 word essay. All required documents must be submitted to the Club no later than Friday, April 28 by 5pm. Potential candidates will be contacted by Friday, May 5 for interviews.
