Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club November Youth of the Month Appreciate the Value of Friendship
Ten year-old Adam Bonilla and Juan Carlos Molina, 13, have been named Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Month for November.

Junior Youth of the Month Adam Bonilla attends Connolly Elementary School and his favorite subject is social studies. Adam is an avid soccer player who plays striker in his league. In fact, Adam received top score in his league. His favorite team is Real Madrid and he hopes to become a professional soccer player someday. Adam, who attends the Club every day, has been a member for almost three years and credits the Club for his improved grades in school and scoring in the 80s, 90s and 100s. In addition to participation in Power Hour, the Club’s homework help program, Adam also enjoys the Learning Center, playing in the gymnasium and activities that take place in the teen room. During his time at the Club Adam has forged a special bond with group leaders Jacubb Coleman and Dah-keem Williams and said with a great smile on his face, “I have learned the importance of friendship at the Club.”
Senior Youth of the Month Juan Carlos Molina who has been a member for only a year and a half and during this short time has secured the Youth of the Month title for a second time. He was named Youth of the Month this past April. Juan, who is in the 8th grade at Robert M. Finley Middle School, was taken by surprise and remained humble when told of his nomination. “I’m so happy to be chosen again. I work hard every day and make school a priority. I also try my best to be a positive person and to be healthy.” Juan, whose favorite subject is social studies, credits Middle School Coordinator, Desirae O’Neill and Teen Program Assistant, Jordan Alexander with helping him improve his grades. “I just scored 93 on a science test at school and it’s because of the Club I did so well.” Juan attends the Club every day and participates in a number of teen program activities with the many friends he has made at the Club. He also enjoys participating in the Club’s sports programs, especially soccer. He plans on attending college where he hopes to have the opportunity to play in his chosen school’s soccer league. After college, Juan would like to pursue a career in the automotive industry.
