Junior Youth of the Month, Joseph C. is seven years old and in the first grade. He believes he was selected as Youth of the Month because he sets a good example for his peers. “I am good, and kind and I try to help other kids be good too,” said Joseph who is a science enthusiast and is currently enjoying learning about the moon. He also gravitates towards arts and music, expressing his creativity through scribbling and looking forward to playing the drums. Sports, however, present a bit of a challenge for him. He feels too small for basketball, is unsure about soccer, and has decided to try his luck at pickleball. Joseph envisions a successful future and is already considering a variety of career aspirations, including medicine, teaching, banking, or becoming a first responder. He is also thinking about savings, investments, and helping those less fortunate. Joseph is a fairly new member and enjoys being at the Club immensely. “I love this place. This is my special place.”

Senior Youth of the Month, Enrique M., at the age of twelve and in the seventh grade, demonstrates a keen interest in math and science. However, his enthusiasm extends beyond academics to encompass a passion for basketball, football, soccer, and all activities that take place in the gym. He is currently on the Glen Cove junior soccer team and especially enjoys playing sports and having fun with his three brothers. As a true sports enthusiast, Enrique harbors aspirations of becoming a professional soccer player but also has a pragmatic understanding of the challenges associated with professional sports. As a result, he can envision himself pursuing a career as a police officer, dedicated to serving and assisting people within his community. Enrique has been a Club member for five years and attributes much of his growth to the supportive staff. He acknowledges their assistance with homework and that they've played a significant role in his personal development. "They encourage everyone to be respectful and help others," he affirms, highlighting the positive impact the staff has had on him and his peers.
