Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club Serves Thanksgiving Dinner to Community

On Tuesday, November 25, Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club hosted a bountiful Thanksgiving Dinner for the Glen Cove community.

The Club, along with Andrea Correale and Elegant Affairs and 65 volunteers and staff members, served the dinner to 393 guests.

Andrea Correale and her team at Elegant Affairs prepared and donated all the trimmings and cooked the 36 turkeys contributed by the community and North Shore Farms. “Our Thanksgiving Dinner, now in its 14th year, is truly a collaborative affair and one that brings together our members and their families, our volunteers and the Glen Cove community to share in a feast and enjoy the festivities of the season,” said Franca Trunzo, Director of Operations who organized the dinner. Jack McDougal, board member and Retired Sargent of the Glen Cove Police Department, gave the blessing while 65 volunteers helped serve the turkey and all the side dishes. The Sundae stations were a favorite among the kids.

In addition to serving 393 guests at the dinner, the Club held a Thanksgiving Basket Drive. Thanks to the generous donations and contributions from the community along with the Church of the Holy Resurrection, Glen Cove Beer Distributor, The Green Vale School, Happiness is Belonging, local grocery stores, North Shore Farms and Kristie Werz, the Club was also able to provide complete Thanksgiving Dinners for more than 85 families to prepare at home on Thanksgiving day.
