Glen Cove Cheers its Way to a Third Place Finish
Varsity cheerleaders completed a challenging routine to place in the Wantagh Warrior Invitational.

Glen Cove High School’s varsity cheerleaders placed third in the Small Varsity Division at the Wantagh Warrior Invitational on Dec. 5.
The girls worked hard to show off a liberty sequence with a switch lib, power press, scale and arabesque, which ended in a twist down. Although it was a very difficult routine, the girls were not afraid of the challenge. The team also had a fabulous ending pyramid with many moving parts, including Tatiana Leto flipping from above her teammates’ heads, only to be tossed backwards to do it again.
Coach Jessica Thompson congratulated the team on a great performance and expressed her pride on their accomplishments thus far. She also reminded the team to keep powering through at their upcoming competitions, saying, “You can achieve anything you set your mind to.”
