Glen Cove Hockey Player to Compete in All-Star Game

Glen Cove High School sophomore Spyro Markoulis was selected by the Nassau County Hockey League to play in the All-Star game vs. Suffolk County on April 2.
Spyro competed in the Western New York High School Club Hockey League championships in Jamestown as a member of the Bethpage Eagles ice hockey team on March 4-5. The high school sophomore was first drafted to goaltend for the Eagles varsity team last year and has been invited to play throughout his high school career.
“Spyro was an average goalie as a ninth-grader, but through persistence and hard work, he has proven himself worthy of being selected to an elite group of hockey players in the high school league,” said Bethpage varsity ice hockey coach Jeff Schmier. “He not only plays with Bethpage, but also plays travel hockey as well. His commitment to the game, his teammates and bettering himself is unwavering.”
