Residents to “Chip-In” and Recycle “Live” Christmas Trees on January 9th at Morgan Park

As the holiday season comes to a close; the City of Glen Cove’s Beautification Commission will host their annual “Chip-A-Tree” event for residents to recycle their used evergreen Christmas trees.

The event will be held on Saturday, January 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Morgan Memorial Park parking lot, Germaine Street. There will be free coffee and donuts for all who attend. Residents are asked to remove all decorations and lights from their trees before recycling.

For those who are unable to attend the January 9th event, beginning January 4 trees can be dropped off at a designated area in the Morgan Memorial Park parking lot. After January 9, Christmas trees will be picked up curbside on Wednesdays with yard waste by the Glen Cove’s Sanitation Department. For more information, call Glen Cove DPW at (516) 676-4402.
