The Glen Cove man, who was arrested Friday, followed another driver into a parking lot in Manorville and stabbed him, police say.

GLEN COVE, NY — A Glen Cove man was arrested Friday after a Thanksgiving road rage incident in Manorville during which a man was stabbed, police said.

Suffolk County Police arrested Gregory Spina, 43, and charged him with second degree assault, police said. He will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Saturday, police said.

Police said the case of road rage quickly turned violent on Thanksgiving and Spina was originally on the run after stabbing another driver on Long Island.

According to police, a 44-year-old Manorville man was driving a 2017 Hyundai northbound on Wading River Road when Spina, who was driving a 2010 gray Volvo erratically and attempting to pass multiple vehicles, attempted to pass his vehicle at the intersection at South Street.
The Manorville man believed his vehicle was struck and pulled into a parking lot at the corner of South Street and Wading River Road to inspect his vehicle. Spina also stopped his car and engaged in a physical altercation with the victim and stabbed him once in the abdomen at 2:37 p.m., police said.

The victim, who police are not naming, was transported by Manorville Community Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The victim's wife was also in the vehicle but was not injured.
