Glen Cove Man Pleads Guilty to Sexually Abusing Young Girl

Edward Ramirez has been accused of committing two other sexual crimes following this incident.

A Glen Cove man who is accused of committing several sexual crimes pleaded guilty Thursday to forcing a young girl to sexually touch him in a supermarket in 2014, according to Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas.

Edward Ramirez, 43, pleaded guilty to the top charge of first-degree sexual abuse. He faces up to 4 years in prison, 10 years of post-release supervision and will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release.

In November 2014, Ramirez was arrested after police said he exposed himself to a 7-year-old girl while looking directly at her inside Stop & Shop, located at 177 Forest Ave. in Glen Cove. When the girl ran to the adjacent aisle to tell her mother what happened, Ramirez then exposed himself to the girl’s 5-year-old sister and forced the girl to touch him, police said.
