The damage from Tropical Storm Isaias, with wind gusts close to 80 MPH, has been extensive in Glen Cove and Island-wide. Downed trees and electrical poles have caused many residents and businesses to experience lengthy power outages. The City has also sustained power outages at our water wells making it difficult to replenish water reserves at the usual capacity. In order to keep our water at a safe level during PSEG’s restoration efforts, we are asking all residents to refrain from any non-essential usage of water until power is restored and our water wells are replenished. This includes watering lawns, washing cars, spraying outdoor surfaces, or any other household usage of water that may be postponed until power is restored.

Dealing with a power outage, particularly at a time like this, is difficult. Rest assured that we are working with PSEG to get your power back on as safely and as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and stay safe.
