Glen Cove Resident Lands Internship on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’

A Glen Cove native is spending her summer vacation as a production intern on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

College senior Emily Anderson is using this internship as a head start into a career in live television. She is an electronic media major at High Point University.

Anderson also served as an intern on “The Wendy Williams Show” in 2015. It’s safe to say her resume is fairly impressive.

“It’s awesome to see how diligently the writers and staff work, watching each night of the convention and coming up with a live show to be aired half an hour after the speeches end,” Anderson said in a press release.

Through her internship, Anderson has gotten a behind-the-scenes look at all of the big names that come into the studio, including Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Will Smith and Kevin Hart. She even gained experience producing live episodes highlighting the Republican and Democratic national conventions.
