Glen Cove Residents Paint Fire Hydrants Red, White, And Blue For America's 250th
Nearly 30 hydrants across the city are being transformed into patriotic displays through the Summer Youth Employment Program.

GLEN COVE, NY — Nearly 30 fire hydrants across Glen Cove are getting a patriotic makeover as residents help prepare the city for America's 250th anniversary celebration.
The hydrants, located along the July 4th Bike Parade route, throughout downtown, Cedar Swamp Road, and by Morgan Park, are being painted by local youth participating in the City's Summer Youth Employment Program.
The project provides participants with hands-on work experience while helping beautify neighborhoods throughout Glen Cove, city officials said.
