Glen Cove Set Great American Cleanup Day For May 18
The Great American Cleanup Day will be celebrated in Glen Cove on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Glen Cove, NY, May 10, 2019 … The Great American Cleanup Day will be celebrated in Glen Cove on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to noon as the city’s Beautification Commission hosts a cleanup of various areas throughout the downtown area, as well as re-planting of annuals at several Adopt-A-Spots and the Glen Cove Veterans Memorial.

Glen Cove residents are also invited to the annual paper shredding event, which will be held in the rear of Glen Cove City Hall (9 Glen Street) from 9 a.m. to 12:00 noon or until the shredder truck is full. Residents can shred confidential papers with a limit of two banker’s boxes per person.
More than 20,000 communities participate in the nationwide program sponsored by Keep America Beautiful each year to keep their neighborhoods, city parks and beaches clean and beautiful. Volunteers are invited to meet Beautification Commission members in the rear of Glen Cove City Hall at 9 a.m. on May 18. All plants and supplies will be provided.
