Glen Cove, N.Y. — Students across the Glen Cove City School District watched history being made from the classroom on January 20th as Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Kamala D. Harris were being sworn into office as the new President and Vice President of the United States of America.
“I can’t think of anything more educational for our students than watching history happen in real time,” said Dr. Maria Rianna, Superintendent of the Glen Cove City School District. “I think this is especially an empowering moment for our female students and students of color. They are witnessing that there is simply no limit as to what they can accomplish in this country.”
Students watched the event with their classmates and had an opportunity to partake in a discussion with their class to share any comments and questions they had about the ceremony.
