GMA Martial Arts in Glen Cove Donates $420 To Deasy School PTA

Glen Cove, NY - March 22, 2016

Sensei Hender Alvarado and Sensei Andrew Goldberg of GMA Martial Arts in Glen Cove presented the K.A. Deasy School PTA a giant check in the amount of $420.00. Principal Ken Craft, PTA President Amanda O'Brien, and PTA Vice-President Buffy Lupinski were present to receive the donation. The funds were raised as a follow-up initiative to a "Conflict Avoidance" assembly delivered by the martial arts instructors at Deasy Elementary School earlier this year. After the assembly, 12 students took advantage of a "6-Week Special" agreed upon by GMA Martial Arts and the Deasy School PTA. Each 6-Week Special purchased entitled the student to 6 weeks of martial arts training at a discounted rate of $69.99 and included free karate uniform. GMA Martial Arts provided the martial arts instruction, the karate uniform, and donated 50% of the proceeds directly to the Deasy School PTA. The Deasy School PTA supports faculty, staff, parents, and most importantly the children through an array of educational, cultural arts, community outreach, and fun-filled events. The Deasy School PTA encourages all families to support their work by purchasing a membership and invites parents to volunteer for PTA events throughout the year.
