Gold Coast Car Show a Great Success.
The 7th Annual Glen Cove Concours/Bimmerstock Car Show Raised Over $70,000 for Diabetes Research.
The weather was perfect, the cars were dazzling, music and other live entertainment were fabulous and sponsors and other donors were extremely generous. Must be another successful Gold Coast Concours/Bimmerstock Car Show and fundraiser to benefit the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF).
Held September 20 in Glen Cove’s Downtown business district, the show boasted hundreds of high performance cars, the owners of which made donations to DRIF as a show fee. This helped raise even more money beyond the various sponsors and hundreds of others who supported the event and Diabetes research.
Lifelong Glen Cove resident and Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton serves on the event committee, which is organized and run by Martino Auto Concepts owner Joe LaPadula. “It is so heartwarming to see the amazing outpouring of support from businesses and individuals,” DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I am so appreciative for all of the efforts of the volunteers who worked so hard to make the event possible and so successful, as well as the City of Glen Cove, including the Mayor’s office, the Department of Public Works, the Police Department and EMS Auxiliary.”

A separate fundraiser was held during the event. The Glen Cove High School Choral performed, with their monies raised going towards their trip fees to Italy. Their angelic voices and harmonies and hard work have culminated in an invitation to perform at The Vatican in the spring.
