Halloween City: Local One Stop Shop

The Greenvale store is opened for a limited time only and boasts a collection of all of your Halloween needs under one roof.

Each year, for the month of October, a store temporarily opens its doors to consumers who are looking for the perfect Halloween costume or decorations to spook up their homes.

Halloween City is the one stop shop for Glen Cove residents this year.

Located on the corner of Glen Cove Road and Locust Street in the nearby city of Greenvale, the store boasts 4000-square feet of costumes, decorations, accessories and wigs for adults, teens, kids, toddlers and infants.

Formerly the home of a Circuit City, Halloween City is the smallest Halloween-themed Store in the region and carries its own in terms of selection, staff and prices.

Their huge selections of masks are frightfully displayed and starts at $3.99, while adult and kid costumes start as low as $12.99. Whether you are looking to disguise as the president of the United States, Frankenstein, a doctor, a super hero, a dog or a Disney princess, they have the costume, the star spangled tie, the fake blood, the cape and the fairy wings to go with it.

If you are also interested in transforming your home into a dungeon or smoke blowing, bug infested, ghost haunting cemetery, they have all props to help you pull it off.

Tinker Bell is the best selling costume this season for girls, according to a Halloween City employee. Boys seem to gravitate towards characters from Star Wars. Both costumes sell for $29.99.

Vampires are the go-to costume for adult customers this year.

Although competition lurks just around the corner, store manager Kurt Dylan is confident that their prices and selection keeps customers coming back.

"Our prices are competitive and most people shop around then come right back to us." Dylan said that the store is "doing well," despite the hardships in the economy.

Halloween City has expanded hours through Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays. On Halloween, the store will be opened from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Everything in the store will be 50% off, starting Nov. 1.

Halloween City closes its doors for the years on Nov. 2.
