“Holiday Tales at The Hearth” returns to Friends of The Sands Point Preserve at Hempstead House on Sunday, Dec. 7, with family festivities from 12-3 p.m.

The event is just one of many programs taking place on the original Guggenheim Estate, where membership helps preserve and protect the site’s historic buildings and magnificent grounds.

The afternoon is chockfull of holiday cheer with carolers, crafts, and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Highlights of this much-anticipated event will also include special guest readers who have been looking forward to sharing some of their favorite stories beside the roaring fireplace in the library. The event also features scores of traditional holiday music and a variety of winter-themed crafts for children. And, as is the “Tales at The Hearth” tradition, children are encouraged to bring along their very own holiday wish lists and letters for Santa – and deliver them in person.

The event also features a Wurlitzer Opus 442 Theatre Organ performance. Festive refreshments, including holiday-inspired sweets and child-friendly beverages, will be served.
