Glen Cove Athletes Honored at Awards Dinner
Beebe makes All Long Island, Conference Player of the Year; Mickens, Letellier, Carignano make All Conference.
The Glen Cove High Scool boys basketball team earned more praise this week as point guard Kewan Beebe was chosen for All Long Island, and three teammates were selected for top spots in their conference for the season.
"The whole table was going crazy," said coach Peter Falen of the scene at the Nassau County Basketball Association Awards Dinner on Tuesday.
Frankie Mickens, Yadiyah Letellier and Mauro Carignano were each honored for their performances, having taken Glen Cove to its .

Beebe, who from Virginia in September, received the Player of the Year award for the A3 Conference, and was one of six players from across Long Island to be selected for All Long Island.
"He went home with a lot of hardware, as we say," said Falen.

Beebe is only the third player from Glen Cove to make All Long Island.
"I don't know how to take it," Beebe said, adding that he didn't expect to hear his name after the first five were read. "I was so anxious."
His name was announced last, and "the table exploded," said Falen.
The honorees are voted for by coaches from all over Nassau County, according to Falen.
