Inept Long Island Robber Takes 'No' For An Answer

The man demanded the store's employee empty the register. But when she refused, he walked away.

An amateur criminal gave up the goods on Wednesday after he received a sternly worded rebuke from an employee of the store he was trying to rob.

According to Nassau police, a man entered the Dreams East Antique Store, located at 359 Sea Cliff Ave. in Sea Cliff, at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday. He demanded the employee give him money from the register, but the woman behind the register refused.

The "robber" then walked out of the store without taking anything and was last seen heading west on Sea Cliff Avenue.

The employee described the man as 6 feet tall, wearing a black ski mask, black gloves, a light gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
