La Fuerza Unida Summer Camp

Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) visited young campers on the final day of La Fuerza Unida’s 2018 summer camp on Friday, August 17.

The full-day summer camp, which is based at the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County, included on-campus science, sporting, crafting and cooking activities, as well as trips to local museums and parks. This year’s group of approximately 50 grade K-5 campers enjoyed a lunch party, cotton candy and a bouncy castle to wrap up the 2018 season.

“Every summer, La Fuerza Unida enriches the lives of children by providing diverse activities in a safe and structured setting,” Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I am pleased to see a Nassau County park utilized for such a worthwhile program and wish all of the young campers a wonderful start to the new school year.”
