Glen Cove and Locust Valley girls lead their FLG Lacrosse teams to Victory!
Sabrina Mesawich, Margaret Collett, Claire Carney, Josie Coleman, Sarah Lubow and Kiki Grace made a big impact on the field for FLG Lacrosse
This was another great season for the FLG Lacrosse teams! Sabrina Mesawich and Margaret Collett were irreplaceable for the 2018 select team. Their speed in the midfield was unparalleled. The 2019 team was lead by Locust Valley/Lattingtown natives Sarah Lubow, Josie Coleman and Claire Carney! Josie gained possessions while dominating the draw and quickly moving the ball up the field. Claire was unstoppable in the midfield causing turnovers and aiding in transitions to the offensive end where Sarah put in huge goals for the 2019 team! The 2019 team fought hard in the hot summer sun and left it all on the field every single game, including winning a tournament Championship at the LI Laxfest! Director Robyn Pastuch says of the girls, “There is a lot of talent on this team. It’s nice to see the hard work pay off for them. They will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come. Sarah and Claire are natural athletes who haven’t yet even tapped into their potential”. The 2023/2024 FLG Select team had a fantastic inaugural year. Kiki Grace was crucial to the teams success this season with her speed and impressive stick skills! We can’t wait to see what’s to come from the girls in the future!
