Essay Writing for College students at Glen Cove High School were given tips on how to write a unique college application essay when Asma Malik, senior assistant director of admissions of New York University, visited their school.
Malik shared a sample Common Application with students in each class and discussed the importance of grammar and spelling in a college application essay. She also reminded the high school students to let their personality shine through their writing and to not get stressed out during the application process. Other topics covered included the importance of meeting deadlines, staying focused on the questions asked as part of the essay and the difference between early decision, early action and regular decisions.
