Patch Picks: St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

Patch picks the best ways to celebrate in Glen Cove this St. Patrick''s Day.

This year, celebrate the traditions of the Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day at one of the many restaurants serving traditional Irish meals and drinks in Glen Cove, and an annual parade that will honor the festivities of the Irish.

Here is a look of places to celebrate this St. Patrick’s Day.

  • – This St. Patrick’s Day, and will be serving traditional Irish dishes: corned beef, cabbage with boiled potatoes, vegetables and Irish soda bread, Sheppard’s pie, grilled salmon with Jameson Irish whisky sauce and a selection of Irish beers and whisky. The meal starts at $19.95 and is open to the public. Reservations are required.
  • – Stop by Downtown Café for your share of Sheppard’s pie, corned beef and cabbage and traditional Irish beers starting at $18.95. Specials will be running starting on St. Patrick’s Day through the weekend or until supplies last.
  • – Hunter's Grill is serving up a corned beef and cabbage for $14.95, ruben sandwich with waffle French fries for $10.95, and Sheppard's pie for $12.95. The bartender will be pouring $5 mixed drinks and creating a "lucky" St. Patrick's day inspired beverage. Pitchers of beer go for $8.95 and traditional Irish coffee will also be served. Hunter's Grill is opening its doors from noon to 11 p.m on St. Patrick's Day.
  • – Page one invites families for a traditional Irish lunch and dinner starting at $23.95. Dinner includes a variety of traditional Irish dishes and drinks. Meals start at 12 noon and ends at 11:00 p.m.  for a special St. Patch*rick's Day night of music.
  • – JD gates welcomes all participants of the Glen Cove’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade back to the bar to celebrate with their free lunch buffet featuring corned beef and cabbage and of course, Irish beer. After the parade ends at 2 p.m. on Sunday, the bar will be opened for celebrations.
  • The 23rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, , Forest Ave. –  The parade will start on Sunday March 20 at 1 p.m at the Robert M. Finely Middle School and should last for about an hour.
