PHOTOS: New Chief, Officers Sworn in at Fire Dept. Dinner
Outgoing chief honored by mayor and others for leadership of department over last two years.
More than 250 people gathered at the Waterview Club in Bayville on January 14 for the Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department's annual installation dinner, where mayor Ralph Suozzi swore in a new chief and slate of officers.
Ex-chief Anthony Tripp welcomed incoming chief Rodni Leftwich, who was installed along with first assistant chief Joseph Solomito, Jr., second assistant chief Philip Grella, Jr., third assistant chief Robert Marino, recording secretary Thomas Kenary, corresponding secretary William Bastavanos and treasurer Gilbert Tanaka.
Suozzi was joined in praising Tripp's service by state senator Carl Marcellino, assemblyman Charles Lavine, Nassau County executive Ed Mangano and Oyster Bay town councilwoman Beth Faughnan.
