Police, Fire Departments Rescue Stranded Fishermen
The group of two dozen people became stranded when the tide came in while they were fishing on a jetty.

Two dozen stranded fishermen were rescued by police and fire fighters in Glen Cover Sunday morning.
According to Nassau police, the Marine Bureau received a call at 11:50 a.m. for two dozen people stranded on the Glen Cove Breakwater Jetty. Police say that, while the people were fishing, the tide rose and the group was unable to get back to shore.
Nassau County Marine 2, FDNY Marine 4, the Glen Cove Fire Department, the Glen Cove Police Department Marine Boat 254 and the Glen Cove Fire Department EMS were able to transport all 24 stranded persons safely to the Glen Cove Yacht Club. No one was injured.
