Overview: on Forest Avenue is a comfortable restaurant, bar and grill that boasts a diverse menu ranging from South Western inspired appetizers to homemade BBQ. There’s something for every taste on the menu.
Décor: The main dining room is decorated with cow hide, racks of antlers mounted on the wall and rustic, polished wood. The overall atmosphere is casual and laid back. The bar area is very dimly lit, by alternating blue, red and green lights. It stands in contrast to the rest of the restaurant.

The Drinks: The beer list is extensive, from the usual, everyday domestic beers, to craft beers like Hofbrau and Rastafa Rye by Blue Point. The beers on tap change often. The bartender said they don’t have a specialty drink but mix everything from Manhattans to Chocolate Martinis ($10 mixed drinks).
Appetizers: Usual chicken fingers ($6.95), mozzarella sticks ($6.95) and loaded nachos ($8.95) can be found among more unique fare. The avocado spring rolls ($6.95) are a blend of interesting flavors, cilantro, chili pepper and served with the house’s special dipping sauce. There are also two seafood options: Maryland crabcakes ($11.95) and fried calamari ($9.95). Another standout was the spinach dip ($5.95), which was rich and flavorful.
Entrees: The options for entrees are nearly endless; featuring classics like Hunter’s chicken marsala ($16.95). This dish is rich and delicious, with the perfect balance between the mushroom sauce and black pepper. There’s a great deal of variety when it comes to specialty burgers (from $9.95 to $16.95) and BBQ, which is smoked on site. A standout soup is the French onion ($5.95), a savory beef and sherry broth topped with melted Swiss and gruyere cheeses and a crunchy, crisp crouton. The sesame seared tuna ($15.95) is a refreshing dish infused with Japanese flavors. This dish is served with a wasabi sauce that keeps all the flavors crisp and ties in the toasted sesame seeds with the rich tuna. For those that prefer lighter fare, the Greek salad ($7.95) is drizzled with homemade dressing, black olives and red onions, sprinkled with tangy Feta cheese.

Sides: Hunter’s serves the standards (all $5.00): French fries and onion rings (which are truly perfect, crispy but not greasy, the outside crunches to reveal a soft, perfectly sweet onion), to creamed spinach and macaroni and cheese.
Desserts: Desserts are available daily, and change every day.
Service: Staff was very attentive and friendly. No wait for a table and average time between ordering and being served.
Signature Dish: Hunter’s Monster Ribs (half rack- $19.95, full rack- $34.95)
