Rotary Fundraiser to Honor DeRiggi-Whitton

The Glen Cove Rotary Club has chosen Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton as the honoree for this year’s 24th Annual Golf Tournament and Dinner. The event, which will take place on September 26, includes a golf tournament during the day and a cocktail and dinner party in the evening. Profits will be donated to Gift of Life, Inc., which helps save the lives of children around the world who are in need of heart surgeries and other life-threatening medical assistance who cannot afford to pay for the medical services.

Through the Gift of Life program efforts and partnership of hospitals and medical professionals across the United States, only $5,000 can cover the cost of a life saving surgery for a child. “It is always a privilege to be honored by any organization, but to have been chosen as an honoree by Rotary on behalf of Gift of Life, Inc. is very near and dear to my heart,” DeRiggi-Whitton said. “The Glen Cove Rotary helps a lot of charities and causes and Gift of Life, Inc. is such a wonderful and important organization that has saved countless lives over the 40+ years it has been in operation. I want to thank both organizations for all they do and for selecting me as this year’s honoree.”

The golf tournament will take place at the Glen Cove Golf Club and the cocktail and dinner party will be at the Glen Cove Mansion.
