SAFE, Glen Cove and TAC Implement City Hall Entryway Smoking Ban

The City of Glen Cove has adopted entryway smoking bans at city hall.

Over the last decade, SAFE, the Tobacco Action Coalition of Long Island (TAC) and the City of Glen Cove Mayor's office have collaborated to promote a tobacco free community. Additionally, the City’s Housing Authority and several other local youth and community based organizations have adopted the State’s Tobacco Free Outdoor Initiative for their organizations to protect the public from the dangers of second hand smoke, and to help change the social norms associated with tobacco usage.

The City of Glen Cove has adopted new entryway bans at city hall to protect their visitors and staff and has limited smoking outdoors to a designated area. The City is truly living up to their role as a leader in protecting the public from the harmfulness of smoking as well as its acceptability.
