Suez Begins Operations/Maintenance of Water Reclamation Facility
SUEZ Now Operates and Maintains All Three Treatment Plants on Behalf of Nassau County

SUEZ assumes operations and maintenance for the third and final water reclamation facility owned by Nassau County on August 1. In 2015, SUEZ entered into a 20-year agreement to operate and maintain Nassau County’s wastewater treatment plants and sewer system. It is the largest public-private partnership of its kind in the U.S. SUEZ has been operating and maintaining both the Cedar Creek and Bay Park Water Reclamation Facilities since January 2, 2015. The Glen Cove treatment plant was being run by Inframark, whose contract expires on July 31, 2020.
“SUEZ' management of the Glen Cove facility will now allow its proven expertise operating our waste water facilities adjacent to south shore bays and wetlands to be expanded to the north shore, thereby strengthening this administration's commitment to the environment,” said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran
“Over the past five years, we have worked tirelessly to protect the environment and improve water quality for Long Islanders on the South Shore,” said Nadine Leslie, CEO of SUEZ North America. “We will now be able to help further protect the Long Island Sound as we begin to operate and maintain the Glen Cove facility.”
