Suozzi Declares: 'I'm Going To Win This Race'
The Democratic congressman from Glen Cove told "Patch AM" that Gov. Kathy Hochul is "continuing to foster a culture of corruption."
GLEN COVE, NY — Congressman Tom Suozzi is trying to unseat the incumbent in a Democratic primary for governor.
But Suozzi, the former Nassau County Executive, faces a tough task, trailing Gov. Kathy Hochul by 30-40 points in most polls.
Suozzi, a guest on "Patch AM" Thursday said, "I've got a very clear message that I think is resonating with people. I'm a proven executive. I'm a common-sense Democrat."

He said a campaign focus is addressing what voters are most concerned about — crime, taxes, affordability, corruption and helping children in troubled schools.
"I'm going to win this race," he said.

Hochul has agreed to debate Suozzi and Jumaane Williams, the New York City Public Advocate, at least two times next month.
"Kathy Hochul is failing on crime. She's failed with the Buffalo Bills," Suozzi said. "She's not addressing the high cost of living here in New York state, the highest taxes in the United States of America and she's continuing to foster a culture of corruption."
The primary is on June 28.
