Susan Rassekh Honored as Small Businessperson of the Year
The Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce selected Rassekh for her exceptional devotion to the community.

Every year, each Chamber of Commerce in Nassau County selects a small businessperson to be honored during the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce annual Businessperson of the Year and Legislative Breakfast. This year, the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce selected Susan Rassekh due to her extensive work on behalf of the Chamber and the Glen Cove community. “Congratulations to Susan on her very well-deserved honor,” Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton said. “It is amazing how devoted Susan is to helping businesses and the community overall, through her position with Northwell and otherwise.”
Susan is the Manager of Community Relations at Glen Cove Hospital Northwell Health Systems. Before joining Northwell, she spent 27 years with the YMCA of the USA, where she held various leadership positions, including Director of Adult Programs at the McBurney YMCA in New York, Associate Executive Director at the Bay Shore YMCA, Director of the YMCA Boulton Center For the Arts in Bay Shore and Executive Director of the YMCA in Glen Cove. Susan studied English Language Arts at Hunter College and continues to write in her free time. Susan and her husband Richard Silverman are proud Oyster Bay residents.
