Tax Grievance Deadline Extended to April 1

Information regarding filing tax grievance. Deadline extended to April 1

Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton recently hosted workshops in Port Washington and Sea Cliff on how to challenge tax assessments on homes in Nassau County. A representative from the County’s Assessment Review Commission was also at the workshop to explain tax assessments and how to challenge them, whether via the mail or online.

The County’s website makes it very easy to file grievances online, but their website also has forms that can be printed out, filled in and mailed. “I encourage every homeowner to file a grievance. It doesn’t cost anything and can save you quite a bit of money,” Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I wish to thank Manorhaven Mayor Jim Avena and Sea Cliff Mayor Ed Lieberman for hosting workshops in their respective village halls.”

Feel free to contact Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton’s office with questions at 516-571-6211 or visit https://www.nassaucountyny.gov/2207/How-to-Appeal-Your-Assessment.
