UPDATE: 2 Taken to Hospital in Sea Cliff Avenue Crash

Two people were taken to Glen Cove Hospital for non life-threatening injuries following a car accident on Sea Cliff Avenue.

Update: Two were taken to an area hospital for minor injuries. It was not specified if either of the two needing medical attention were drivers. Our original reporting stated that both drivers appeared uharmed.

Two people were taken by to following a two-car collision on Sea Cliff Avenue Monday.

Both were treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to EMS First Assistant Chief Matt Venturino. An additional person refused medical care on scene.

The accident, which occurred at 11:50 a.m., involved a Nissan Maxima and large Society of St. Vincent dePaul truck.

It appeared the driver of the Maxima was exiting the parking lot when a truck heading east on Sea Cliff Avenue smashed into the front-end of the car, according to one witness.

The collision could be heard within a three-block radius, said the witness, who is an employee at , located directly across from the accident scene.

“As soon as I heard the loud crash, I ran out to see what happened,” she said. Workers from other surrounding businesses, such as , said they also heard the noise.

, and officials responded to the accident, which left front of the Maxima in pieces. Markings were also observed on the left-side of truck's bumper.

A powdery substance was placed on the ground, , and contain debris.

Police diverted cars along the busy road to prevent traffic build-up at the busy intersection of Glen Cove and Sea Cliff Avenues.

The Nissan Maxima was later carted off by Ray’s Towing.
