Woman Killed In Glen Head Crash

A woman was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Glen Head on Thursday afternoon, police say.

According to authorities, a 67-year-old woman was driving a 2015 Audi eastbound on Glen Head Road when she struck a 2015 Volkswagen traveling northbound on Sheppard Street at 4:03 p.m.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a 55-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 13-year-old passenger in the Volkswagen suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the Audi was taken to an area hospital by the Glenwood Fire Department to be treated for minor injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for a brake and safety check.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending family notifications.

The investigation is ongoing.
