Young Woman Hit By Car In Glen Cove Dies From Injuries
Pinar Alkan was crossing a street in February when she was hit by a car. She just died from her injuries, police say.
A young woman who was hit by a car while walking in Glen Cove more than a month ago has died from her injuries, police say.
Pinar Alkan, 26, of Glen Cove, was crossing Brester Avenue at 8:10 p.m. on Feb. 19 when she was hit by a 23-year-old woman driving a 2005 Volkswagen.
Police say that Alkan suffered serious head trauma and was taken to a hospital. The driver stayed at the scene, and police conducted a brake and safety check on her car. Police said there was no criminality involved.

Alkan was pronounced dead by hospital staff at 6:12 a.m. on March 26.
