One stage, seven genres, and 100% Free! Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership and Neno’s present Summer Sounds, a lively afternoon of music, dance, and celebration on the Myrtle Avenue Plaza on Saturday, July 25, from 2–8pm. 
The lineup brings together a vibrant mix of Latin jazz, salsa, banda, norteño, cumbia, sonidero, and indie rock, featuring The Benny Lopez Latin Jazz Ensemble, Los Carnales de Chinantla, Sonido Scorpio, and Brooklyn-based indie rock project DJ Silky Smooth. The program will also feature the Dance of the Tecuanes, a centuries-old Mexican tradition that combines music, movement, storytelling, carved wooden masks, and elaborate costumes, centered around the symbolic Tecuani, or jaguar figure.

Join Resilient Red Hook for the Hooked on Red Hook Treasure Hunt Park &amp; Pier Cleanup — our City of Water Day 2026 celebration of Living With Water. Don your maritime costume (pirates, mermaids, barnacles — all hands welcome) , then compete to collect the most, weirdest, and wildest trash hauls along our working waterfront. Share what climate means to you at our shoreline storytelling station, with prizes for top haulers and best costumes. The Statue of Liberty makes a pretty good backdrop. Neighborhood food and drink discounts and freebies will be offered to participants during and after the event.
